The brief

A stove installer wanted more free-quote requests from homeowners across South East London.

What we did

  • Content rescued from previous backups
  • New website design and build
  • Custom content management system in Sanity
  • Free-quote request form and gallery of installs
  • Local SEO for SE London
  • Microsoft 365 licensing

When the website disappeared

Dulwich Fires installs wood-burning and multi-fuel stoves for homeowners across South East London. Most new work starts online: someone searches for a stove installer, looks at recent installs and asks for a free quote.

Then the website went offline. The maintenance contract with the previous supplier had lapsed, and with it the hosting. With no one looking after it, the site simply stopped working, and with it went the business’s main source of new enquiries.

It’s a more common story than most people realise. Websites often depend on a hosting account, a domain name and a maintenance agreement that are easy to forget about until something stops. When they lapse, everything they support can disappear overnight.

Rescuing the content

Starting again from scratch would have meant losing years of work: service descriptions, photos of past installations and the details that make the business’s expertise clear. So the first job was to recover as much as possible.

We worked through previous backups of the old site to rescue its content, including text, images and the gallery of installs. That gave the new site a solid starting point and meant the business didn’t lose the record of its past work.

A new site, built around free quotes

With the content recovered, we designed and built a new website focused on what the business needs it to do: turn homeowners into quote requests.

  • A free-quote request form that asks the right questions up front, so the team can reply with useful information
  • A gallery of recent installs, because seeing finished stoves in real homes is what persuades people to get in touch
  • Clear service pages explaining what the team does and the areas it covers
  • Local SEO for South East London, so the site appears when people nearby search for stove installation

The site is fast and works well on mobile, where most homeowners first look for a local installer.

A content management system they can use

The new site has a custom content management system built on Sanity. The team can update text, add new installs to the gallery and change their services themselves, without needing a developer and without the risk of breaking the site.

The editing screens are designed around this business’s content, not a generic template, so each page has just the fields it needs. Keeping the site fresh becomes a quick job rather than a project.

Microsoft 365 for email and apps

Alongside the website, we set the business up with Microsoft 365 licensing for email and Office apps. That puts professional email on the business’s own domain, along with the apps the team needs, under one account the business controls.

No more single points of failure

Just as important as the new site is how it’s run. Hosting, the domain name and the content management system are all set up so the business keeps control of them, and nothing depends on a single contract quietly expiring.

The result

Dulwich Fires is back online with a faster, easier-to-manage website that’s built to bring in quote requests. Years of content were rescued rather than lost, the team can keep the site up to date themselves, and email and apps run on Microsoft 365.
